## Job Description
The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a fresh, clean and safe environment in which the residents can live and in which employees can work; especially the nursing floors.
_Essential Activities & Tasks_
Operations Management
Dust furniture, tables, window ledges, lights, beds, and high dust pipes. Empties, cleans and replaces liners in waste cans daily.
Clean sinks, commodes, tubs, showers, and polishes all chrome fixtures daily as needed.
Spot cleans all walls, doors, table tops, window, and floor and registers daily.
Dust mops/wet mops all tile/vinyl floors daily, and vacuums carpeted areas daily as needed.
Actively and consistently clean spots and spills from carpet daily as needed and reports any floor care in need of shampooing, stripping, or refinishing to immediate supervisor.
Cleans vacant rooms as assigned.
Quality, Compliance Management & Risk Management
Actively participates in quality improvement activities such as: quality assurance task force groups, problem solving sessions, and streamlining projects.
Reports any repairs needing done to immediate supervisor.
Attends in-service and All Employee Meetings monthly.
Willingly and consistently shares opinions and observations of departmental operations with supervisor.
Customer Relations & Service Delivery
Listens and responds to residents and their needs.
Helps Nursing Services staff distribute resident dining trays and provide assistance to residents in dining.
Administration & Reporting
Maintains current and accurate records through use of computers and/or paper/chart documentation in accordance with corporate policies, federal, state, and local guidelines.
_Qualifications Required_
Education
Must possess a high school diploma.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Experience
Some experience helpful in the Housekeeping field, but not required. On-the-job training provided.
