Ferrous Processing and Trading, a Cleveland-Cliffs business, has an immediate opportunity for an Equipment Operator at the Willoughby Iron & Waste operation in Willoughby, OH.
The Equipment Operator's responsibilities include operating a straight or articulated rubber-tired tractor-type vehicle equipped with a front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas.
Summary of
Responsibilities:
Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals and turns the steering wheel to operate the loader.
Moves levers to lower and tilt buckets and drives front-end loader forward to force bucket into the bulk material.
Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drive the vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
Performs routine maintenance on loader, such as lubricating, fueling, and cleaning.
Power wash the loader as necessary.
Loads and unloads materials throughout the yard as necessary.
Keeps work areas clean and safe for all employees, adhering to all safety rules and regulations.
Cleans and clears debris from the yard to provide safe mobility throughout the yard.
Understands and follows verbal and written communications.
Works cooperatively with other employeesWorks safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic math.
Experience operating mobile equipment preferred.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to maintain accurate records.
Ability to follow oral and written communication.
Ability to climb ladders or steps to reach objects.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Work cooperatively with other employees and the public.
Must be able to work in an environment where they are routinely exposed to dust, dirt, vibrations, extreme climates, and changes in weather.
